Activities
Besides pubs, lunches, and parties, we also offer activities and sports. Through our representatives in the Sports Kollegiet, the NATU Kollegiet and the International Secretary at Akademiska Föreningen, Kalmar Nation arranges a variety of activities.

Kalmarspexarna: Comedic Theatre
The Kalmar Spex has existed in it's current form since 2009. For those who aren't familiar with the concept of spex, a “spex” is a comedy theatre written and performed by students. In the spring of 2012 the Kalmarspex became the first spex in Lund's history to be written and performed entirely in English. This is a tradition that has lived on, which contributes to our spex getting bigger and more popular each year. Our spex still is the only one that is consequently entirely in English, which we take huge pride in.
The Kalmar Spex is always looking for new participants, both actors and musicians to perform during the shows, artists, and other handy people that can help with the backstage props. Regardless of your talents, there is a spot for everyone in the spex!

Tandem Bicycle Race
Tandem is Lund’s giant tandem bicycle race! Each year, every nation elects new Tandem generals to lead their nation in a tandem bicycle race from Gothenburg to Lund. It’s one of Lund University’s biggest events with over 1000 students taking part every year.
To start the adventure, we rent a bus to take us all the way up to Gothenburg, where the race starts. After some traditional songs and festivities, it’s a competition to see who makes it back first! We take shifts on tandem bicycles as we ride through the night all the way back to Lund. The Tandem competition is one of the best experiences one can have while studying at Lund University.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tandem event has been cancelled for spring 2020 and 2021.
